when you cannot record a QB sack against a team ravaged with OL injuries and mediocre backups at the Tackle spots, we can finally draw this experiment to a close.

This is 21 games now, 3.5 QB sacks - NONE this year, not even in preseason....this guy is a flat out bust. He is not progressing, he is at best - flatlining, if not regressing.

The entire 2008 draft class has NOTHING to show for it, when it started out with what - 11 draft picks. Shack Harris turned 11 draft picks into NOTHING.

Chew on that.

did you just wake up? or...did you just need to repeat what everyone has said to get your extraneous point across?

I was going to agree with you until you pushed "Shack" in, who has been gone for more than 8 months now.

I do believe Harvey should be cut right now. The dead money is worth more than his play on the field.

Harvey sucks, but we gotta live with him.

It's sad we gave up all of those picks and still are in dire need of DE's.

Is he the biggest bust we've had considering what we gave up to get him and where we got him?

Yes, and it isn't close.

At least Byron and Reggie Williams, his competitors for "biggest bust in regards to their draft position", had 2-3/1 pretty good season(s) respectively. Harvey's shown NOTHING.

I didn't see any posts about it.

They were prolly hoping they could just sweep this problem under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist.

Last week in a thread I asked if we "should" expect to finally see some production from Harvey this week as he was going up against BACKUPS. People unanimously agreed that there was NO excuse for Harvey not to record at least ONE QB sack this week....

well, he didn't....as usual, and now the spin doctors would rather we just pretend the problem doesn't exist and keep everything "hush hush".

We should have him slim back down to his college playing weight and see if he can do anything as a 3-4 OLB. Maybe at 260 lbs or so he might get a little speed back. He really looked fat and slow out there against the Seahags - just really unnatural.

He can't possibly play any worse, so it's worth a shot.

It's a good thing you brought this to everyone's attention.

I don't know what we'd do without you.

I'm willing to give him until the end of the season, but if there is no progression in his skills (as has been the case all season), I think the bust label will be appropriate...

You gotta admit, though, 2 defensive coordinators in 2 years has done little to help his cause, plus the transition from hand on the ground to upright pass rusher might be a more difficult transition than we all thought.

I agree with you here....I don't want ANY more Florida Gators (other than maybe RB) drafted by the Jags. Other than Fred Taylor, that school has put out a lot of NFL duds over the past decade.

and no, there are no spin doctors anymore... everyone knows he sucks, and everyone agrees he's a bust. nothing else that can be said.

Percy Harvin looks good so far, Mike Peterson came out 11 years ago. Bobby McCray (the last guy to produce 10 sacks for us, in 2006) has had a solid career.

Uh... Jabar Gaffney is ok, I guess...

I'm stumped.

Alex Brown -2002
Andre "Bubba" Caldwell- 2008 (jury is still out on him, but has caught the last 2 game winning TD's)
Channing Crowder -2005

...just sayin.

Fred Taylor.
Came out just before 12 years ago, so he's invalid.

I'm willing to bet he's the reason that 12 was the number used.

Fred Taylor was 1998 which is within the 12 year bracket.

I honestly don't remember what its like to have a pass rush... I am being completely serious. Its almost like it is a given for me to watch my team and see them get little to no rush... If and I want to stress IF we ever do find one again some day, I won't know what to do with myself.
