For three weeks I did not want to make an official thread because people started creating their own before I knew it so I kept joining them. But coming off a loss at Carolina, so many people are turning their attention to firing JDR, Gene Smith's contract, and drafting a wide receiver next year I got the chance to do it this week. Hopefully this is going to work well enough to become a weekly thread again. Just remember to stay on topic because that is in the COC now, not just my personal preference.

All that said, now I am ready to stop pouting about the last game and start looking forward to the next one. Yes, it is winnable, even though a victory is unlikely. So instead of worrying about losing like we usually do after a loss, why not just think about the short injury reports, strategies to win the gamse, and Blaine Gabbert playing his first home game in the NFL? If we lose by 7 points or less, we can say, "Better than the Jets loss when we only scored one field goal," because the Saints will definitely score toucdowns barring a miracle. We also must remember there is no playoff tiebreaker involving the four NFC South games. They only affect our overall record. That said, I do want the Jaguars to win Sunday and say, "We beat one of the best teams in the NFL."

So, are you ready for the other teasm that was born on November 1? I know I am! GO JAGUARS!

Going to see if this defense is really improved or if playing Hasselback, Sanchez, and Newton just made them look pretty.

The Saints threw for 354 yards, and rushed a 100 against the Texans Defense two days ago.
The question you have to ask yourself is the Jaguars Defense significantly better against the pass then the Texans this year. I think they are except the Jags need some kind of pass rush, They need MoJo to step it up again this week. Control the game clock, run, run and run again with the occasional deep pass to Thomas.

I say we squeak out a win by a strong defensive presence. Del Rio saves his job... for at least another week.

This thread looks somewhat official, but hopefully next week, the official thread will have at least five asterisks on either side. It is the preferred way these days.

Saints vs. Jaguars. If Del Rio decides to actually prepare his team, we can stay within two touchdowns. If he continues with the same baloney we have seen in the first three weeks, expect more heartache. I sure wish $5 million worth of head coach bought us more...

Its going to be a tough game for our defense.. If they can handle Drew we've got a shot.

jags offensive scheme, run run run punt, run run pass punt, run pass run punt, run run run run run run, Thats not going to work against the saints. They also blitz allot and we have had problems protecting the qb. Unless that gameplan is changed.

even the best defenses have not been able to stop elite passing attacks thus far.

if we give up 400 in the air don't be surprised.

I will be there upfront and cheering for the Jags. BUT, I hope we don't get blown out. N.O. is a high scoring team, and we can only count on Scobee to carry us. I vote we will get 3 fieldgoals this game.

They somehow have gotten everything we've tried so hard to get for years (offensive skill players). Putting my teal glasses on here we win by a field goal.

The Jaguars will attempt to play this one like they would normally play the Colts. Control the ball and keep ball away from the other team. They're not going to want to get into a shootout because the game would be over quickly. I see plenty of running the ball once again, but they're going to have to let Blaine throw the ball more, too.

Don't worry about JDR. Wayne Weaver will never fire a coach midseason. Save that discussion for another thread.

I assume "squeak out a win" means how we beat the Colts last year - a last-second field goal, although not 59 yards.

You know more than 21 and more than 7 are basically the same thing, so you can vote for the first prediction.

I personally think we should not assume winning by a smaller margin is impossible.

Fixed. If we were really quitters, no games would end with a field goal or Hail Mary. Although we screwed up the end at Carolina, we were clearly trying to get in the end zone during the last minute.

I say worrying about Jack Del Rio falls perfectly in line with your "All topics related to playing with New Orleans" stipulation.

So I will comment on Jack Del Rio.

We're severely out-matched at several positions on the field against the Saints, and possibly even more out-matched in the head coach area.

Sean Payton >>>>>>>Jack Del Rio.

I really wish Wayne Weaver would just get rid of him.
