While I'm not a huge Madden player, I always like to see how our players are rated. Any guesses on who is on the way up or down from last year?

Here are last year's ratings.

Here's my take on a few.

MJD is already at 95 - I see him holding, maybe even going up a point or two, but I see his speed rating going down also from a 94 to maybe 90 or so. He's already said he's going to work on that this year.

Gabbert was rated 75 - I think he drops to high 60's. His accuracy definitely will drop from 83 waaay down. Awareness is already low at 50. It probably won't move a whole lot... But I think there's some sort of potential metric in the game and I think if anyone starts a franchise and is patient with him they could develop him into a good player over a few seasons. He will probably be the only QB on our roster to go from 2011 to 2012.

Marcedes will drop from 90 for sure. I'm guessing below 85.

I doubt the draft will help much, as rookies always start pretty low. (Deservedly) But if we can get a couple FA WR's, playing the Jags as your team might not be too incredibly difficult.

I hear that Madden will be incorporating a new "JESUS" attribute into its next edition so as to appease Broncos fans expecting Tim Tebow to be legitimately rated higher than forty in any category.

Such an amusing contrivance, that one.

What Leary took down with him was the central illusion of a whole lifestyle that he helped create. A generation of permanent cripples, failed seekers, who never understood the essential old mystic fallacy of the acid culture: the desperate assumption that somebody, or at least some force, was tending the light at the end of the tunnel.

With the updates throughout the season, MJD is 98, Blaine is 70, and I believe Marcedes is 84 or 85.

None of our WRs will be above 50. Mike Thomas' speed will drop considerably as his heavy pockets hold him down. Scobee will be at 99. And Tebow will be at 99...... thousand.
