Is it just me, or us landing Blackmon with the first pick take a ton of pressure off pick 2 (and perhaps even 3?)

Gene's been fairly stout in those rounds anyway.

Definitely

There are a lot of names I like that should be there at the pick, which usually means it is not a bad idea to trade back a little if possible. Curry is the one guy I would take if he is there without considering a trade back.

Peter King has us taking Amini Silatolu tonight. That would be interesting.

Take it for what it's worth, but there is a rumor (see nfl.com) suggesting some teams want to trade up and get Janoris Jenkins near the top of round 2.

That would mean even more Gene-draftable talent sliding to us than being predicted here.

I'll take the talent but too much baggage. The best place for him is probably with a team in the state of Florida anyway.

If OT Jonathan Martin is still available when we pick, Buffalo might want to trade up with us to get ahead of the Rams to take him. We would still most likely be able to get either Curry or Branch at #41 and get back a 4th round pick, or maybe a 5th at least. Philly, who picks at #46 and #51, might be another team interested in trading up for Martin.

38. BUF/PHI - OT J. Martin
39. STL - OT M. Adams
40. CAR - WR R. Randle
41. JAC - DE Branch or Curry

if this happened, I would be so happy you'd need to scrape me off the ceiling :D (ok not literally) but to trade down 4 spots, still get a guy who'd help the team in a spot of need marrying a BAP and getting extra picks??

Yeah, it would be nice. The key is Martin being available at our pick. Gene could probably even bluff like he was going to take him to entice some teams to trade up.

I think it'll be better for Janoris to get away from Jacksonville, and his Gainesville buddies.

Daring to dream, I'd like to see Fleener fall to us. With that being said though, I could also appreciate grabbing Martin if he's there. Like the man said, you grab the big bodies when you can. A line of Monroe, Rackley(Britton?), Meester(Rackley?) Nwaneri, and Martin would be STOUT...and YOUNG

The Jaguars are in a great position for the 2nd round. I agree that it would be a great idea to trade back to no later than the middle of the round and get back their 4th rounder. Who knows, if there's a guy like Martin that another team covets they might even get a 3rd rounder. The following guys would all be good value in the 2nd round:

Courtney Upshaw
Cordy Glenn
Devon Still
Peter Konz
Coby Fleener
Lavonte David
Vinny Curry
Kendall Reyes
Jared Crick
Amini Silatolu

At least one of these would still be available by the mid 2nd and I'd be happy with any of them.

1. Hill. Would be sweet to double dip and have the WR position finally taken care of.2. Curray. Gives us that pass rusher we desperately need.

I want Hill too but it might not be enough to go around at WR. Either way, GS isnt gonna draft two WRs.

I want to see us improve the pass rushing so Im hoping for a guy like Vinny Curry. plus I think you should go after big guys early.

but I have to admit part of me really wants to see us grab Stephen Hill! next year could be fun!
hey
