Also played all the previous games in the main storyline. First had some good ideas but wasn't executed very well. Second was fantastic in story and atmosphere but was a little lacking in gameplay options. Brotherhood was the bets in terms of gameplay but the story, while very good, wasn't to the same level as the second game. Revelations was nice but not great. What I really want to see is something to pick up the storyline of Shao Jun from Embers, that would be great.

PC version of the game doesn't come out until November...

Funny thing about AC2; I have friend who played it a bunch on the PS3. He went to Venice last summer and could find his way from the clock tower to the Ponte Rialto without a map. They really did a great job getting the cities right.

The Last of Us looks amazing but my most anticipated game is Bioshock Infinite. The first Bioshock was the best experience I've had with a videogame. Although they're going in a bit of a different direction with this one, it still looks pretty amazing. Also looking forward to Sly 4.
Too many great videogames coming out. My poor wallet.

Really is the best series i've ever seen. THe detail historic wise is incredibe and the inclusion of real life figures (Medici's, Leonardo Da Vinci, Prince Suleiman) in a completely fictional arc are amazing.
@hedden: I liked Bioshock 1 and 2 as well. Gorgeous games with that immersive feel. Im not too hyped on Infinite yet. I saw the trailers and some gameplay stuff but it wasnt awe inspiring.
Gimme GTA 5 and Dead Island Riptide when it comes out and im good. Getting assassins Creed 3 tomorrow .

Rockstar does this. They add too much to something or take something needed away. Personally i liked the lack of humor and the slightly grittier tone. Too bad they took it all (humor and silly stuff) and decided Red Dead Redemption would be a good place to put it. Seriously most of the people you meet in a western should be hard, gritty and ambitious. THese guys were mostly weak, soft and barely able to walk around and survive without your assistance.
Very few times did i feel like a hardcase gunslinger facing ruthless federal agents and a sadistic former boss.Dutch and Landon Ricketts were the only decent people you interacted with or that i didnt outright wanna shoot the second they were on screen. That and the "mysterious stranger" guy in the top hay. He was awesome.
My biggest gripe with GTA4 is the same as Red Dead Redemption: The ending feels pointless like i played for nothing.
SPOILERS FOR GTA4: Why play through all of GTA4 looking for a way out to have a lose-lose with the girl at the end? Either she turns away because you do the deal with Faustin or she gets killed at your cousins wedding. Either way you lose. Nothing feels gained or lost by the choice to kill or save the snitch you've been looking the whole game for either. He dies and thats just it.
With RDR: Same thing you look for ways to escape the past and "redeem" yourself. The only thing he didnt want was for his son to be just like him. Guess what happens? It feels pointless. No redemption for him in the form of surviving to make his son a better man than him and no redemption in killing his former boss. Only revenge and duty that was needed. Feels pointless.

Cause that's exactly what the industry needed, another dark, gritty game. It's not like there's dozens upon dozens of dark, gritty games already out there.

I'm new to the Creed franchise, and I'm trying to decide where to jump in.
From what I'm hearing, it's OK to jump into it with AC 2. Fine with me, since you can pick it up for less than $20.
Which one(s) did you like best?

AC and AC2 i didn't like all that much.... kinda fun but it seemed like alot of redundant quests like collect a hundred of something and pointless stuff like that along with a decent story line... 3 and brotherhood where pretty cool cause they gave them more of a point with your assassins guilds and stuff.... i like to see alot of the cities they put in the game cause most are fairly accurate and i love eastern history so it was kinda cool to see 3d renditions of the historical landmarks and have the ability to climb all over them.... i think this american revolution theme they have going is going to be pretty interesting.
but i still think fallout is better.... FO3 was perfection but new vegas is sweet too.

truthfully that was the only thing I liked about it, it didn't try to take itself too serious like every game seems to. Can't wait for Just Cause 3 for that reason, no artificially deep story, no complex uninteresting characters... just blowing stuff up and exploring the map in a decent amount of of vehicle choices.
Shame AC3 doesn't come out until 11/20 for pc -.-
gives me time to play brotherhood i got from the steam sale for $5 I guess

Just Cause 2 was awesome. Just you, a buttload of guns and lots of explody stuff on a truly massive map. I must have put in close to 200 hours playing that game. All they really need to do for Just Cause 3 is fix the handling of the vehicles, make more planes so I can spend more time flying around the map and extend the story to a proper length. Or give a mission editor so we can make and share our own missions.

I'd start with AC2, you can play AC1 first for the story if you want to but the game does have some very severe gameplay defencies that get in the way of all the fun stabby assassination stuff. AC2 fixes almost of all of those errors and since it has a new main character you won't miss much in way of story. Brotherhood is a bit better in gameplay but you'll miss a lot of the story and settings by skipping AC2. I'd highly recommend starting with AC2, then Brotherhood, then Revelations.

I have 56 hours according to steam, really is fun. My only gripe was the ground vehicles like you mentioned handled poorly, I would just quick jump to a air field and take a plane, or buy the small plane. Mission editor would be great, a lot of the missions were just repeats, and I found myself just collecting hiddens and blowing up the items in the cities for 100% instead of doing missions.

I have 54 hours officially according to Steam but I got at least another 100 hours playing a pirated version. I would normally buy the small helicopter and fly around the main city looking for collectables and things to blow up. My biggest game is currently at 99.84%, too bad a bug prevents you from getting 100%.

the official minimum specs says it can run on a dual core system (2.6 ghz intel 3.0 for athlon and up)
2 gb ram
8600 geforce and up
3000 radeon hd and up
so minimum doesn't seem to be too much required, though I never pay too much mind to official specs
as far as playing it pc gives you a lot of choices
if you have or want a wireless 360 controller you can use that if you get a 360 wireless receiver for pc (i bought mines like 3 years ago for $19 not sure what it cost nowadays)
or you can get a wired 360 controller and just plug and play
ps3 controller you can use with no extra equipment, just the usb cord and a program called motionjoy, if your pc had some sort of bluetooth receiver you should be able to use it wireless
you can buy a pc controller obviously
mouse and keyboard, while i prefer this option for fps I don't care much for it with these types of games, you might be different though

I've played them all. Trust me get the first man. Its awesome and opens you up. You can atually pickup from 2 though. IMO Revelations was one of the best games and the most feeling inducing game i've ever played. I FELT it at times. Usually only rare movies and hyper good books can do that to me. Some of the tension and cutscenes are breath taking.
Also just got 3 last night. Once again they hit a homerun. I only stopped at 11:30 last night cause i had to work. I barely spoke to my girl and ate dinner like a beast to get back to playing.
The new Combat dynamics are amazing and the way people in the world react and interact with you is revamped. More building can now be entered and the once menial tasks have been reworked to roll with the story.
No spoilers so far except for one. If someone wishes i will post it. Its a detailing of the opening "prologue" set 20 years before the 1773 events with the actual main characther.
